The pedagogy session is the first module of the FabLabs sequence. It is designed to allow the participants to understand the general framework of this new model through a reverse-learning process.
Regarding the fab labs more specifically, the knowledge workshop aim is to :
– Deepen the participants understanding of this new model
– Identify what the purpose and the main values of the Fablabs are
– Provide the required core knowledge for the next two steps of the module
During the first part of the workshop, the topic is introduced by the organizer of the workshop. That can be through a live presentation, or to a video or graphic content, that can also have been shared in advance with the participants.
For the Fablabs, we chose to propose a podcast format, where the team that worked of this module introduce the topic in an informal and engaging way.
During the workshop, the group discusses the podcast they have seen before the session (reverse pedagogy). In a second part we used an online collaborative workspace (Miro) for a brainstorming session followed by quizz. This allows participants to thoroughly discover the model and reflect on Fab Labs through their values, definitions, and challenges.
